Travel Money

When got around to arranging our travel money, the stars aligned and the Australian dollar increased in value against the green back and almost reached parody. We purchased $2000.00 at a Travelex branch at Parramatta. This was done so we had emergency cash to meet whatever problem confronted us at the end when we got off the plane. As for the rest of our Travel Money we purchased the Commonwealth banks Prepaid Travel Mastercards at the same exchange rate.

If you are still living in the 1980's and prefer travellers cheques then stick with it. For us the card was a lot less hassle. They were accepted pretty much everywhere we went in Orlando. We had a PIN to use at ATM's. If they ran low we reloaded them on NETBANK.

If you are thinking of just surviving on your Australian VISA/MASTER card remember you have to pay an international transaction fee on your transactions which will drain your bank account quickly. If you are with another bank then check to see if they offer a similar card. Click below for the Travel Card.
